About the role: 

The Implementation Consultant 1 – Customer Change is a Subject Matter Expert whose mission is to provide expert hands-on support in implementing changes within outsourced payroll services. Duties include managing end to end change requests where the change lead has approval from client to commence a change. The role entails scheduling, monitoring and progressing change requests from the customers throughout their life cycle. This role will focus on changes to the payroll processes, system configuration and product releases and align with customer projects and strategies to achieve their high-level business plans. The role also involves coordinating with the operations / BAU Tier 3 managers to support the impact assessment of the change requests from a resource and cost point of view and to produce estimates and costs involved to apply the change. 

As ResourceLink Implementation Consultant 1 – Customer Change, you will be a part of the growing team responsible for delivering ResourceLink changes into our Managed Services teams in a controlled way, using established change management process, new Oxygen methodology and associated tools. The successful individual will be a strong corporate citizen with a passion for delivering excellence. 
Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Deliver configuration changes in ResourceLink test for UAT.  
  • Build configuration changes in ResourceLink live, in line with an agreed timeline.  
  • Support the operations team in understanding the change and the scope of UAT required.  
  • Acknowledge the change request (CR) received from the Change Lead and review for completeness – query and discuss with the change lead/customer if adequate information is unavailable 
  • Involvement in pre-CR meetings, CR definition workshops and project meetings as per specific customer requirement as subject matter expert. 
  •  Provide inputs to impact assessments through analytical and logical thinking and innovative solution options provision of a requirement. 
  • Working with other areas of the business ex. BI, Bespoke, who will aid the composition of the change to ensure end to end considerations have been assessed for all changes. 
  • Identify and drive opportunities for further improvements to current process and functionality. 
  • Work with the Operations teams to ensure that requirements are clearly understood, seeking clarifications where appropriate. 
  • Produce documentation to support changes, such as System Config Specification (SCS) and Change Control Notes (CCN) where customer sigh off is required. 
  • Keep abreast of current and upcoming ResourceLink functionality to drive forward optimum system usage. 
  • Conduct system health checks to identify and solution manual workarounds and sub-optimal process.  
  • Advice and guidance on best use of RL tasks 
  • Manage a Version & Patch Control dashboard of ResourceLink accounts 
  • Support/manage the upgrade process including participation in the testing process 
  • To participate in change work managed by the Change & Systems team including delivery to client 
  • To undertake scheduled and adhoc system & reporting tasks as required by the Change & Systems Manager 
  • Escalate outstanding issues according to specified procedures to line manager 
  • Consider and escalate any new ideas that add value to the customer  
  • Proactively recommends ways in which systems and procedures can be improved to enhance business 
  • Keeps up to date with expected release dates, new functionality, identified issues and ensure that centre staff are advised appropriately 
  • Schedule all database copies, System upgrades and patch applications as agreed with the Change & 
  • Systems Manager 


Skills, Experience and Capabilities Required: 

  • Experience in Payroll required, preferably in addition to HR Administration.  
  • Good knowledge of ResourceLink or a similar HCM product from an end user perspective, preferably with some back-end knowledge such as configuration. 
  • Excellent communication skills, particularly written  
  • Excellent teamwork skills 
  • Highly collaborative and yet self-sufficient. 
  • Self-motivated, proactive, accountable with continuous learning approach; in terms understanding evolving technologies. 
  • Ability to multitask in an ambiguous environment. 
  • A high level of attention to detail  
  • The ability to work well with others 
  • Have a reputation for delivery that reinforces the sense of urgency that must be conveyed.
  • Issues test matrix for upgrades and keeps centre staff and customers informed of scheduled testing and upgrade dates 
  • Maintain log of all platform accounts, versions and patch applications 
  • Support payroll teams through year end assisting with scheduling and processing 
  • Monitor production of RTI files 
  • Assist teams in year-end specific report requirements 
  • To participate in disaster recovery testing 
  • To work with Compliance & Reconciliation Manager in maintaining Business Continuity Plan. 
  • Ensure all identified change is correctly scoped, costed, agreed with the customer and delivered to plan 
  • Create and manage a project plan if appropriate. 
  • Be able to demonstrate change delivery to timetable and within expected accuracy level.
