Position: General Manager - Sales

Location: Thrissur


Position Overview:

The General Manager - Sales in the jewellery industry is responsible for overseeing and directing the sales operations of the company to ensure profitability and market share growth. This role involves strategic planning, managing sales teams, developing customer relationships, and executing sales strategies to achieve business objectives. The General Manager - Sales will collaborate with various departments to drive sales performance and enhance customer satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Sales Planning:

o Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy to achieve business goals and objectives.

o Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer preferences to identify opportunities for growth.

o Set sales targets and performance metrics for the sales team, ensuring alignment with overall company objectives.


2. Team Leadership and Management:

o Lead, mentor, and manage the sales team, providing guidance and support to achieve sales targets.

o Conduct regular performance evaluations, providing feedback and coaching to sales staff.

o Foster a collaborative and high-performance culture within the sales team.


3. Customer Relationship Management:

o Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients and stakeholders in the jewellery industry.

o Develop and implement customer engagement strategies to enhance customer loyalty and retention.

o Address customer inquiries, concerns, and feedback promptly and effectively.


4. Sales Operations and Execution:

o Oversee day-to-day sales operations, ensuring efficient and effective sales processes.

o Monitor sales activities and performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.

o Collaborate with marketing and product development teams to create and execute promotional campaigns and product launches.


5. Market Development and Expansion:

o Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including new markets, products, and channels.

o Conduct market research to identify emerging trends and opportunities in the jewellery industry.

o Develop and execute strategies to expand the company's market presence and customer base.


6. Financial Management:

o Prepare and manage the sales budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources to achieve sales targets.

o Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics, providing regular reports to senior management.

o Implement cost-effective sales strategies to maximize profitability.


7. Collaboration and Cross-Functional Coordination:

o Work closely with other departments, including marketing, product development, and customer service, to ensure seamless execution of sales strategies.

o Participate in cross-functional meetings to provide insights and feedback to influence company strategies and initiatives.

o Support organizational goals and initiatives through active collaboration and teamwork.


Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree.

Minimum of 10-15 years of sales experience and min 5-7 yrs experience in the jewellery industry, with at least 3-5 years in a senior sales management role.

Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets and driving business growth.

Strong understanding of the jewellery market, including trends, competitors, and customer needs.

Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.

Ability to develop and implement strategic sales plans and initiatives.

Willingness to travel as needed.
