Job Overview
A Visa Officer is responsible for processing and assessing visa applications submitted to the Department of Home Affairs (DHA) or Australian embassies and consulates. They ensure all applications meet Australian immigration law requirements and policies. The role requires a high level of integrity, attention to detail, and the ability to make decisions based on complex legal frameworks
Key Responsibilities:
• Assess and process visa applications (e.g., tourist, student, skilled
migration, family, work, or humanitarian).
• Verify applicant documentation including identity, financial, character, and
health records.
• Liaise with external stakeholders including law enforcement, educational
institutions, and employers.
• Detect and investigate fraudulent or misleading information in applications.
• Maintain accurate records and case notes in internal systems.
• Prepare decision letters (grant or refusal) clearly outlining the reasons.
• Provide information and guidance to applicants or their representatives.
• Follow departmental protocols and service standards
