Position: Jewellery Appraiser

Key Responsibilities:

• Jewellery Inspection and Valuation: Examining jewellery pieces, identifying materials (gemstones, precious metals), and assessing overall quality. 
• Market Research: Staying up to-date on current market trends and prices for jewellery items. 
• Appraisal Report Preparation: Creating detailed written appraisals that include descriptions, valuations, and any relevant information for clients. 
• Maintaining Records: Keeping accurate records of appraisals and related documentation. 
• Fraud Prevention: Identifying and preventing fraudulent or misrepresented jewellery items. 
• Following Industry Standards: Adhering to established standards and practices for jewellery appraisal. 

Skills and Qualifications:

• Expertise in Gemstones and Metals: Deep understanding of different gemstones, precious metals, and their characteristics. 
• Market Knowledge: Awareness of current market trends and pricing for jewellery. 
• Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze information, assess value, and prepare detailed reports. 
• Communication Skills: Effectively communicating with clients and explaining appraisal findings. 
• Knowledge of Assay Techniques: Understanding methods for determining the purity of precious metals. 
• Ability to Use Assessment Tools: Familiarity with tools like touchstones, X-ray fluorescence machines, and other relevant equipment.
