Looking for Indian candidates, preferably from Kerala
who have experience working in the Kitchen or Home Appliances industry.
Position Overview:
Category Heads/managers handle marketing and merchandise displays for specific categories of products. They develop everything for their product category that customers see on the retail shelf along with marketing/informational materials and retail displays.
• Creating and developing a strategic long-term plan for the development of the category.
• Category Growth: Driving marketplace growth of the
relevant category while considering the consumer and competition.
• Responsible for category ranging, pricing, and promotions
across channels.
• Placing appropriate orders to ensure product availability
meets demand.
• Leading category management projects to optimize ranges
and related merchandising.
• Collaborating with buyers and merchandisers to expand
product categories.
• Creating forecasts for product demand to ensure
sustainability of inventory.
• Managing budget development and revenue for the category.
➢ Selection : Responsible for merchandising, assortment planning, option plans pre-season as well as in season to ensure that the Category is well represented.
➢ Trend Spotting : Should be
able to identify broader trends and fill category gaps.
➢ Developing strong working
relationships with buying, marketing and sales teams.
➢ P & L : Owning P&L for
the relevant category in alignment with business goals. The Category manager
would be responsible for the revenue targets as well as the gross margins.
➢ Cross Functional Capabilities
: Should be able to fruitfully coordinate with marketing, supply chain,
cataloguing, finance / commercial and other functions of the organization.
➢ Supervision and Monitoring of
Operations : Should have prior experience or enough knowledge & confidence
to mentor / supervise merchandising operations.
➢ Inbound planning, Cataloguing
monitoring & Discount monitoring etc should be managed.
➢ Marketing promotions: Should
drive visibility plans, promotion plans and coordinate the same between the
internal marketing teams and that of the sellers.
